5 Tips for your Best Business Retreat Yet

Set the Scene: Here in the Rocky Mountains, we draw endless inspiration from our natural surroundings. We trade fluorescent lights for floor-to-ceiling windows and cityscapes for towering peaks. Retreat to a special and inspiring setting to get the most out of your getaway.

Set the Scene

Setting may be the single most impactful aspect of a business retreat. Here in the Rocky Mountains, we draw endless inspiration from our natural surroundings. We trade fluorescent lights for floor-to-ceiling windows and cityscapes for towering peaks. Retreat to a special and inspiring setting to get the most out of your getaway.

Incorporate Movement

A lengthy hike is unnecessary, but a short walk to the pond or an interactive and fun challenge course are great ways to get your blood pumping, fight off an afternoon slump, or generate fresh ideas. Our Pioneer Challenge and Ropes Courses are some of our favorite ways to engage groups at any age or ability level.

Don’t Skimp on the Snacks

Nothing can throw off your focus quite like a grumbling stomach and hangry colleagues. Make comfort a priority by providing snacks throughout the day. We’d recommend setting up your snack station at the rear of the room to limit distractions and help take the pressure off attendees seeking a quiet snack. Some of our favorite meeting-friendly snacks are house-made granola bars and pinwheels to pack in some protein and energy without being too heavy.

Have a Backup Plan

There’s nothing we love more than getting outside to get the ideas flowing and seek new inspiration. We always try to incorporate the outdoors, especially given our spectacular mountain setting. However, just because Colorado boasts 300+ days of blue skies doesn’t mean an afternoon shower won’t pass through. That’s why we always have a backup. Thankfully, we have Axel’s Pavilion and two expansive barns to serve as backup spaces in the event of inclement weather. Don’t leave it to chance — always plan for a bit of unlucky weather so there’s nothing to worry about!

Give ‘Em Some Downtime

Nothing makes us feel more motivated than being well-rested and rejuvenated. Your business retreat is the perfect opportunity to strike that balance. Set aside plenty of downtime for attendees to enjoy recreation of their choosing. Whether it’s cozying up by the fireplace with a good book, hitting the trails on horseback, or even booking a spa treatment, offer plenty of time for a variety of leisure activities — we’d recommend three hours each day to allow time for freshening up and getting back to business without the rush.
