Brenna St. Onge

28 | Events and Community Engagement Manager
Alliance for Sustainable Colorado

Brenna St. Onge has developed comprehensive sustainability programs for hotels from Hawaii to Colorado, most recently at the Brown Palace Hotel, where she created an in-room recycling program, a hotel-wide composting program and a sustainable purchasing policy. St. Onge also started a rooftop garden to supply fresh produce to the hotel’s restaurants and designed a new amenity line infused with the honey from the hives on the rooftop.
St. Onge has recently changed jobs to work with the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado.

Biggest achievement

“Transitioning my career to the new job I have now.”

Making an impact

“Opening people’s eyes to what is out there. It’s not just saving polar bears and ice caps. Business can be good for the planet and be good for the environment. We can preserve the planet by reducing the footprint through reduction of wastewater and electricity.”

Role models

“My mother is amazing. She’s never afraid to be herself or say what she thinks or feels.”

St. Onge also looks to Hunter Lovins of Natural Capitalism Solutions for advice.

Best advice

“Follow clues of aliveness. It’s another way to say follow your dreams or follow your heart. Seek out more of what makes you alive and less of what makes you feel down.”

Off-duty

“Anything in nature, hiking, biking, river rafting. I like to be with my dogs, my husband and family and friends.”
