Confidence sells! Sales self-confidence is freedom from doubt – belief in yourself, your product and your abilities. Confidence has an enormous impact on how your customers perceive you. The reality is, the more you have, the more likely it is you’ll succeed in sales.

Those who sell (i.e., everyone who has a business) know that one of the most important keys to success is having unstoppable and unshakable rock-solid self-confidence when it comes time to present yourself or your services.

Confidence is not just something you learn, it’s something you do. When you carry yourself with confidence, people are naturally attracted to that quality. When you speak, move and act with certainty and sureness, it changes the way the world responds to you.

On the flip side, lack of self-confidence is obvious to your customers and it won’t matter how incredible your offer is: bringing weakness on your sales call will never compel anyone to buy from you — ever!

Usually the reason for lack of self confidence in sales is fear. Fear is the business-woman’s No.1 enemy. Women need to get over it, stop saying “I don’t like to sell,” “I am not good at sales,” or “I don’t want anyone to think I am trying to sell them something.” Guess what? You are selling something and it’s no secret that you are in business to exchange what you do for a fee. It’s not a good enough excuse anymore and women need to step up, strap on their confidence and face that fear, head on.

It’s normal to have some fear around selling, but don’t let your fear paralyze you. Acknowledge your fears and take immediate action to overcome them. Action cures fear. Nothing works faster and more effectively than taking action. That means asking for help, tapping into reliable resources or hiring a sales coach. Fear is a very poor excuse and an often overused reason to not succeed in your business.

Whether we are selling ourselves in a job interview, asking someone out on a date, presenting our product or service or even just selling the company image where you work, the fact is, we’re all in sales, like it or not. Sales skills are a must, whoever you are and whatever you do!

Selling does not have to be a fearful experience! If you have the right attitude, a strong self belief, unstoppable confidence and a full understanding of your product along with plenty of practice, then you will have nothing to fear.

So what are you going to do about it?

The first action step is doing what it takes, no matter what obstacles get in the way, no matter if fear shows up and no matter what your “head trash” is telling you. Act and act now. Confidence is like a powerful magnet that attracts opportunities, resources and the right people-the things you need to create the life you desire.

So go ahead, ignite your self-confidence and create the success you desire. The only limits to what you can achieve are self-imposed.
