Brian Friedman grew up in Denver and went on to work for the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., before co-founding GHP Investment Advisors (GHPIA) in 1999. As president and chief investment officer, he has helped grow the 30-employee firm’s assets under management from $10 million to $2.8 billion. GHPIA’s investment ethos is what Friedman calls “quantified common sense” — “You need to visualize the upside, but be prepared for the downside.” He serves on the board of the World Trade Center Denver and is a former co-chair of the Financial Roundtable of the National Association for Business Economics.
