PNC names Christian Winward Denver Chief Information Security Officer

PNC Financial Services Group has named Christian Winward its chief information security officer.
Winward is based in Denver, one of PNC’s technology locations. He joined PNC through its acquisition of FirstBank earlier this year. He had worked at FirstBank for more than 30 years, starting as a teller before serving in technology and project management roles. He most recently served as chief information officer and helped integrate FirstBank into PNC.
“His leadership of major technology functions, support of the successful integration of FirstBank into PNC and strong understanding of our business position him well to build on the excellent foundation already in place,” said Debbie Guild, PNC’s head of technology.
Winward will report to Guild and lead PNC’s Enterprise Information Security organization. The group oversees cybersecurity strategy, security operations, incident response, data protection, governance, risk assessments and third-party security. It also operates the bank’s Global Security Fusion Center.
