Verdant Capital Partners has acquired 15 Native Roots cannabis dispensaries in Colorado, establishing its first retail operating platform.
Verdant assumed ownership and operation of the stores July 31 after receiving regulatory approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The dispensaries will continue operating under the Native Roots name. Verdant said it plans to invest in employees, operations and product selection.
“Native Roots has earned the trust of customers across Colorado over the past 17 years, and our responsibility is to build on that foundation,” Verdant CEO Julian Michalowski said.
Native Roots was founded in 2009. Josh Ginsberg, a principal at Verdant, was a co-founder of the Colorado cannabis retailer.
Verdant said it plans to pursue additional cannabis retail acquisitions in regulated U.S. markets.
