Crisosto Apache is a poet and Associate Professor of English at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in the Denver metro area. Mescalero Apache, Chiricahua Apache, and Diné, they were raised on the Mescalero Apache Reservation in New Mexico and hold an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Their debut poetry collection is GENESIS (Lost Alphabet), followed by Ghostword (Gnashing Teeth Publication), with work appearing in POETRY Magazine, The Rumpus, and WW Norton’s When the Light of the World was Subdued, Our Songs Came Through, edited by Joy Harjo. They serve as editor-at-large for The Offing Magazine and continue advocacy work for Native American Indigenous LGBTQ and Two-Spirit identity.
