Groundworks Art Lab, the hands-on arts education center, announced Tuesday the grand opening of a main 12,500 square-foot location in Northeast Boulder at 3750 Canfield St. The building will include programming space, a central gallery and a private event rooftop deck with mountain views. An all-ages community open house is planned for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a public ceremony at 5 p.m. Community members can RSVP at Eventbrite or on Facebook.

“We believe art is for everyone. Each studio is designed to welcome people of all ages and abilities to create, explore, and experiment,” said Kari Palazzari, Groundworks’ executive director.

Groundworks Art Lab (formerly Studio Arts Boulder) also manages two existing locations: Boulder Pottery Lab on University Hill and Groundworks’ East  on Sterling Circle.

Groundworks Art Lab provides hands-on art education for all ages and abilities in community studios where people can connect. It offers affordable, accessible programs in woodworking, blacksmithing, printmaking, low-fire glass, and pottery. For more information, call (720) 379-6033 or visit the organization’s website.
