Heather Boelens is the managing partner of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s Boulder office and co-practice group leader of the firm’s national commercial real estate practice. She has worked on the acquisition, finance, and development of a broad range of commercial real estate asset classes, from multifamily and manufacturing to medical. A small-town farm upbringing shaped her tenacity and drive to build a legal career without existing connections in the field. “Growing up on a farm in a small town of just 800 people, I had to build my career from scratch without having any connections in the legal field,” she said. “One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is never shy away from speaking up or embracing challenges.” Boelens describes her practice as uniquely collaborative. “I find great satisfaction in problem-solving for my clients and collaborating towards a common goal that yields visible, tangible results,” she said. “I often tell people that I practice ‘happy law’ because, in the end, all parties are usually pleased with the outcome.”
