Susan Cross is vice president of mountain operations for Aspen Skiing Company, a position she was promoted to in May after a 34-year career with the company. The Boston native began at Snowmass in what was then called Skier Services, working hourly positions for nine seasons before transitioning to year-round employment. She served as Buttermilk mountain manager beginning in 2011 before returning to Snowmass in the same role in 2018. In her current position, she oversees mountain managers for Aspen Mountain, Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass. “I’ve always told my people, you got to do what’s right, which might not be the easy way of doing it, but you got to do the right thing,” she said.
