Wendy Videlock is the Poet Laureate of the Western Slope of Colorado, a role in which she serves 32 counties. Based in Palisade, she writes, paints, teaches, and advocates for the arts. She is the author of seven books, including five poetry collections, an illustrated children’s book, and a collection of essays on the creative process. Her poems and essays have appeared in Oprah Magazine, Poetry Magazine, The New York Times, and Best American Poetry, among other publications. Videlock believes “the arts might just be the answer to all that ails us” and that “poetry is fundamentally pleasurable.”
