GREELEY, Colo. — Three Aims Community College students competed in the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference held June 1-5 in Atlanta.
The students participated in automotive collision repair technology competitions that included written tests, job interviews and hands-on skills assessments.
Diana Perry earned a silver medal in the post-secondary Facility Management competition, finishing second nationally. Cloud Kline placed fourth in the post-secondary Collision Damage Appraisal event, while Megan Pierret finished sixth in the post-secondary Automotive Refinishing category.
“Everyone was a little nervous, but they were ready to showcase their abilities,” said Mike Hanscome, an Aims automotive instructor and advisor for the college’s SkillsUSA team. “Conversations with judges and committee members were very encouraging, as they were impressed with our students’ knowledge, professionalism and skill sets.”
The SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference brings together students from across the country to compete in career and technical education events.
“Our students represented themselves, their school and their state with excellence,” Hanscome said. “We are proud of every student who competed for their dedication and passion to their trade.”
According to the college, Aims Automotive has recorded 18 podium finishes and 11 national championships during its 13 years of SkillsUSA competition.
