Colorado companies earn 19 spots on Forbes best employers

Nineteen Colorado-based companies landed on Forbes’ recently published lists of the best employers in the U.S.

In Brief:
  • Nineteen were named to Forbes’ lists of the best employers in the United States.
  • Children’s Hospital Colorado ranked No. 65 among nationwide.
  • Westminster-based ranked No. 45 among mid-sized companies.
  • Colorado had nine large employers and 10 mid-sized companies recognized across multiple industries.

The state’s top honorees were Westminster-based Vantor, a spatial intelligence company, at No. 45 for mid-sized companies, and the Children’s Hospital in Aurora, which ranked No. 65 among large companies.

Forbes, along with market research firm Statista, created two lists: the top 500 (1,000 to 5,000 employees) and the top 700 large employers (more than 5,000 employees). The rankings were based on multiple years of survey data, including recommendations from current employees, and companies do not pay to be part of the rankings.

Colorado had nine large companies and 10 mid-sized companies land on the lists, across sectors ranging from education to health care to transportation and engineering.

Among its nine large companies to make the list, Colorado had three in the top 200 nationally.

  • Arrow Electronics in Centennial, No. 450 nationally
  • VF in Denver, No. 577 nationally
  • Alterra Mountain Company in Denver, No. 632 nationally
  • Gates in Denver, No. 660 nationally

Best mid-sized companies to work for in Colorado

Among its 10 mid-sized companies to make the list, Colorado had two in the top 100 nationally.

  • PCL Construction in Denver, No. 91 nationally
  • Coorstek in Golden, No. 227 nationally
  • Hensel Phelps Construction in Greeley, No. 258 nationally
  • Crocs in Broomfield, No. 2276 nationally

  • Air Methods in Greenwood Village, No. 431 nationally
