The Corporation has named Kami Welch as its next president and CEO, effective Aug. 15. Welch has served as interim CEO while continuing to lead the Greater Arvada Chamber of Commerce.

The Greater Arvada Chamber also announced a leadership transition plan. Welch will remain in a continuity role with the chamber through the end of 2026 while the board conducts a search for her successor.

Welch led the Greater Arvada Chamber for 14 years, during which membership doubled. She also helped launch the initiative, a $3 million regional effort focused on workforce, housing, child care and business competitiveness, and established the , which has distributed more than $5 million in business support.

Jeffco EDC combines economic development, the West Metro Chamber of Commerce and the West Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation. Since 2020, the organization said its economic development efforts have supported more than $5 billion in capital investment and the creation of more than 10,000 jobs across Jefferson County.

“Kami has spent 14 years building the Greater Arvada Chamber into one of the region’s most trusted and effective business organizations,” Kelly Dunkin, chair of the Jeffco EDC board of directors and president and CEO of , said. “Kami understands the opportunity in front of Jeffco EDC and the work it will take to realize it.”

Welch said she looks forward to strengthening collaboration between economic development, chamber operations and leadership development.

“When economic development, chamber work and leadership development pull in the same direction, communities feel the difference,” Welch said.

The Greater Arvada Chamber said details of its search for a new president and CEO will be announced in the coming weeks.
