Elaine Gantz Berman has spent her career improving outcomes for children and families through public education, philanthropy and civic leadership. She served two terms on the Denver Board of Education, including four years as board president, represented Congressional District 1 on the Colorado State Board of Education, and was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper as a trustee at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Governor Jared Polis named her co-chair of his education transition committee. She spent 18 years as a program officer at Gary Community Ventures and helped found the Colorado Children’s Campaign, the Adoption Exchange and the Colorado Education Initiative. Berman holds an MSPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is fluent in Spanish.
