DENVER — Hundreds of KeyBank employees volunteered with 22 community organizations across Colorado on June 2 as part of the company’s 35th annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day.
The day of service included projects with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity ReStores, A Precious Child, Project Linus, the Town of Superior and Mile High United Way.
Volunteers worked on projects that included building playgrounds, painting homes, maintaining community gardens, cleaning parks and assisting local nonprofit organizations. Some locations also hosted financial education workshops for community members.
“Neighbors Make the Difference Day is one of the most meaningful days of the year for our teammates,” said Chris Picardi, KeyBank’s Colorado market president. “It’s an opportunity to give back to the communities we care so deeply about and to show up as neighbors, not just bankers.”
KeyBank employees in Colorado joined colleagues across the country who receive paid time off to volunteer in their communities.
Neighbors Make the Difference Day began in 1991 when a group of KeyBank employees in Alaska organized a community volunteer project. The initiative expanded companywide two years later and has continued as the bank’s annual day of service.
