Margot Hampleman

Margot Hampleman founded Decorative Materials more than 35 years ago and has grown it into Colorado’s largest privately owned luxury tile and stone showroom. As founder and CEO, she has built the company through strategic expansion, long-term vision and a commitment to personalized service. Decorative Materials is known for its exclusive Stocked Collection, which provides ready-to-ship luxury materials sourced from around the world. The program proved especially valuable during the pandemic, helping customers avoid supply delays.
Over the past year, Hampleman led the opening of a new Steamboat Springs showroom, expanding the company’s presence in Colorado’s mountain communities. She also recruited experienced professionals, strengthened collaboration across departments and helped the company reach new sales goals. Her leadership emphasizes innovation, client relationships and employee development while encouraging team members to contribute ideas and use their individual talents.
Hampleman has also made community involvement a priority. She encourages each showroom to support local nonprofits that reflect employees’ interests, resulting in partnerships with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art in Denver, Mountain Valley Horse Rescue, The Art Base and the Aspen Hope Center. Decorative Materials donates a portion of its proceeds to those organizations each year. Hampleman previously served on the board of Freedom Service Dogs and has supported women’s shelters through tile donations while contributing financially to children’s education initiatives. Her combination of entrepreneurial success, collaborative leadership and sustained philanthropy has helped shape Decorative Materials and strengthened Colorado’s design community. Her legacy continues inspiring colleagues, clients through example and leadership daily.
