Rich Carr is a partner at CCY Architects in Basalt, Colorado, where he has practiced architecture in the Roaring Fork Valley for more than 30 years. A graduate of Cornell University’s College of Architecture, Art and Planning, with additional studies in Berlin and Vienna, he designs private residences, resort communities, and nonprofit facilities, with a focus on integrating buildings into the natural environment. Named the 2023 AIA Colorado Architect of the Year, his work has appeared in Architectural Digest, Forbes, Dwell, and Dezeen, among other publications. “We want to make people’s lives better,” he said. “We want the built environment to be smarter and better for everybody.”
