ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Zynex Inc., a medical technology company that develops noninvasive devices for pain management, rehabilitation and patient monitoring, has named Steven Dyson as its new chief executive officer. He will begin the role Aug. 18.
Thomas Sandgaard, who founded Zynex in 1996 and has served as chairman since then, will remain actively involved as chairman and chair of the board’s technology committee.
Dyson brings more than 25 years of experience in the medical technology industry, largely through leadership at Apax, a global private equity firm. He has been involved in acquiring, growing and exiting healthcare and medical technology companies worldwide, including KCI in Texas, Rodenstock in Germany, Healthium Medtech in India, Unilabs in Switzerland and Neuraxpharm in Spain.
Dyson will work from Zynex headquarters in Englewood while maintaining a residence in London. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oxford University and a doctorate from Cambridge University.
“I am excited to step back from day-to-day operations and continue contributing as chairman,” Sandgaard said. “Steven brings deep expertise and a proven track record in the medical sector. His leadership will be instrumental as we refocus our business strategy toward a more optimized payer mix and work to return Zynex to strong growth.”
Dyson said he is honored to join Zynex at a pivotal moment for the company.
“Zynex’s strong foundation, built by Thomas over many years, provides an excellent platform to deliver exceptional value for all our stakeholders,” he said.
