LONGMONT, Colo. — Stored Energy Systems announced Tuesday the appointment of Igor Stamenkovic as chief executive officer.
Stamenkovic succeeds Bill Kaewert, who has moved into a strategic adviser and board member role. Kaewert’s father founded the company more than 50 years ago. Kaewert led the company through its expansion from a battery charger manufacturer into a provider of power systems for mission-critical infrastructure.
Stamenkovic joins SENS from Eaton Corp., where he most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of electrical services and systems. During his career, he held leadership roles in general management, operations, marketing and technology.
Stamenkovic said the power industry is shifting toward integrated systems designed to improve reliability and reduce complexity for facilities that require continuous operations.
Kaewert said the leadership transition supports the company’s continued focus on system-level power solutions as demand for reliable infrastructure grows.
Stored Energy Systems provides DC power and engine-starting systems for mission-critical applications. The company is based in Longmont and has been in operation for more than 5 decades.
