In Brief:

DENVER — The Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology has hired Casey Cook as principal director of enterprise architecture, a newly created leadership position focused on technology modernization across state government.

Cook will report to State Chief Information Officer and OIT Executive Director Sarah Tuneberg. He will oversee enterprise technology standards, policies and governance, including efforts to evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

“Colorado is embarking on a new phase to define what state government technology can be, and Casey will be at the center of this transformation,” Tuneberg said. “Casey brings the exact blend of modern technical depth and passion for public service required to deliver digital services that support millions of people across Colorado.”

Before joining the state, Cook served in technology leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, including as director of strategy, management, and complex solutions and as a senior cloud architect. He oversaw enterprise architecture, and modernization across the department’s 29 agencies.

Cook also chaired the USDA’s Cloud Working Group and served as the department’s executive architect for its STRATUS enterprise cloud strategy.
