DENVER — Jacobs has been selected to provide program management support for the Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility and Common Transportation System at Denver International Airport.
The project is part of the airport’s ongoing capital improvement program aimed at improving safety, passenger experience and operational efficiency, while advancing its goal of becoming a global leader in sustainable aviation.
As one of the fastest-growing airports in the world, Denver International is expected to serve more than 120 million passengers annually by 2045. The new facility and transportation system are key to that growth, offering travelers a more seamless rental car experience and accessible transit between the facility and terminals.
“Consolidating rental car operations into a single facility connected to the main terminal by a common transportation system reduces traffic in the terminal area, eliminates the unsustainable number of shuttle buses, frees up curb space and allows redevelopment of surface lots for future needs,” said Steve Pelham, vice president and transportation director for the Americas at Jacobs.
Jacobs will contribute its global program management expertise along with specialized knowledge in electric vehicle infrastructure, fueling operations, traffic design, customer interface and transportation technologies. The aim is to increase airport capacity while minimizing environmental impact and incorporating smart solutions.
“Denver International Airport is an economic engine for Colorado and drives growth across the state,” said Eva Wood, executive vice president at Jacobs. “We are proud to continue supporting the airport as it enters its next phase of development.”
Jacobs has worked with the airport since 1992 and has delivered more than 60 key projects, including the Great Hall Improvement Program, the Concourse Expansion Program and gate apron and drainage improvements.
