DENVER — Denver Summit FC has closed on the purchase of land at Santa Fe Yards near Broadway and Interstate 25 for a planned stadium development.
The project, in partnership with the City of Denver, is expected to include a stadium and surrounding district with public gathering spaces, local businesses and community programming.
“This is a defining moment for Denver Summit FC and for the future of women’s professional sports in our city,” said controlling owner Rob Cohen. “We are incredibly grateful to Mayor Mike Johnston, Denver City Council and the broader Denver community for helping turn this vision into a reality.”
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said the project has been years in the making.
“This has been a long time coming for South Broadway,” Johnston said. “This moment belongs to the Denver Summit fans and leadership team and could not have happened without every neighbor and business owner who believed in this dream from day one.”
The 14-acre redevelopment, designed with Populous, is expected to open in spring 2028. The stadium is designed to expand for larger events.
The site will include pedestrian and bike connections and is located near public transit.
