DENVER — FBT Gibbons has signed a full-floor lease at 1801 California St. in downtown Denver, expanding its presence in the city’s office market.
The firm will occupy the 49th floor, totaling 22,131 square feet, in the Brookfield Properties-owned tower. The lease follows the combination of Frost Brown Todd and Gibbons to form FBT Gibbons and marks an expansion in the Rocky Mountain region.
FBT Gibbons opened its Denver office in April 2024 with nine attorneys and has since nearly tripled in size, adding services in real estate, business transactions, commercial bankruptcy, litigation and financial services.
“We’re seeing a clear flight to quality in Denver, where companies are gravitating toward premier buildings that offer a differentiated experience for both clients and employees,” said John Kellogg, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Denver office.
The office will include collaborative workspaces, upgraded technology and shared gathering areas. The project reflects changes in workplace use as firms balance flexible work with in-person operations.
Brokers with CBRE represented both sides of the transaction. Harrison Archer, Ryan Link and Rob Link represented FBT Gibbons, while Sarajane Goodfellow and Chris Phenice represented Brookfield Properties.
“Denver’s law firm community continues to thrive, and FBT’s commitment to 1801 California is a reflection of that strength,” Archer said.
The lease adds to ongoing efforts to attract tenants to downtown Denver office buildings, where demand has shifted toward newer or renovated Class A space.
