DENVER — The MJ Companies has partnered with the City of Boulder to provide employee benefits consulting and brokerage services for the city’s workforce and retirees.
The agreement, which began this month, covers about 2,000 benefits-eligible employees. The firm will work with city officials on benefits planning, vendor oversight and program design.
City officials selected The MJ Companies following a competitive process, citing its service team and experience working with public sector clients in Colorado.
“We’re proud to partner with a city that puts people and community first,” said Courtney Hutchison, Colorado market president of The MJ Companies.
Initial priorities include reviewing plan design and costs, expanding access to care, including mental health services, and improving tools and communications to help employees make benefits decisions.
The partnership expands The MJ Companies’ presence in Boulder and Northern Colorado and adds to its work with public sector clients in the state.
