Kari Jones Dulin, 47, wanted to be a prosecutor, but was immediately “hooked” when she started working on the plaintiff side of personal injury law about 20 years ago. A partner at Dulin McQuinn Young in Denver, Jones Dulin served as president of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association from 2023-24 and remains active on the organization’s board and its diversity committee.

“We typically represent people against insurance companies and corporations when they’ve been injured, so it’s kind of like representing David versus Goliath,” said Jones Dulin. “In general, as a personal injury lawyer, it’s the power to impact the individual.”

Jones Dulin’s rule of thumb is to “always work harder than your opponent,” she added. “I come from small-town Iowa, so work ethic is everything. Work is life. No matter what the result, win or lose, if you work as hard as you can, you’ve left nothing on the table.”
