Lafayette, Colorado-based Orbit Fab Inc. has announced the appointment of Dr. Claire Leon to its Board of Advisors.

Leon brings over four decades of space industry leadership to the role. Beginning her career at Hughes Space and Communications in 1979, she later rose to vice president of Navigation and Communications Systems at Boeing, where she oversaw Air Force satellite and classified programs before retiring as VP of National Programs in 2013.

Following her corporate career, Leon served as director of the Launch Enterprise Directorate for the Air Force, managing DoD rocket procurement and next-generation launch systems development. Most significantly, as the inaugural director of the Space Systems Integration Office at the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command, she established the enterprise systems engineering framework that prioritized warfighter requirements and delivery of resilient space capabilities — expertise directly relevant to ‘s mission of integrating refueling capabilities on government satellites.

Leon holds a doctorate in Executive Management from Claremont Graduate University, an MBA from UCLA and degrees in Management and Mechanical Engineering.
