TFP Nutrition is building a new pet food manufacturing plant in Platteville, marking the company’s largest expansion outside Texas in its 95-year history.
The family-owned producer of pet food and animal nutrition products announced the project on Wednesday, saying the facility is scheduled to open in January 2026. The company said the plant will support growing demand in the western United States and strengthen its ability to serve retailers and consumers across the region.
The Platteville facility will produce dry kibble for dogs and cats and will include advanced automation, sustainability features and food safety systems. Company officials said the project is expected to create local jobs and expand TFP Nutrition’s production capacity.
Ben Wright, president and CEO, said the investment continues the company’s longstanding focus on quality and community.
Weld County leaders welcomed the expansion. Perry Buck, chair of the county board of commissioners, said the project aligns with the region’s strong base in agriculture, food processing and manufacturing, and will provide new job opportunities for local residents.
