Ali Flynn Phillips, 53, joined Obermeyer in 2005 and now serves as the firm’s president from its Aspen office. Founded in 1982, Obermeyer now has more than $2.5 billion in assets under management for clients across the country, with another office in Denver and a new one in Vail as of 2025.

Following stints with Salomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs, Phillips landed in Aspen after exploring the Rockies with her husband in their old Jeep. She relished the opportunity to work in wealth management because of the human connection. “Companies are great, but there’s something so unique in terms of working with individuals and families,” said Flynn Phillips.

Her guiding philosophy? “Be authentic. Make sure people hire you for a reason, and they hire you for your authentic self. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Also, listening and humility goes a long way.”
