The CEO of his namesake firm that he founded in 1991, Andrew Dodds, 64, also acts as Dodds Wealth’s investment strategist.
A key early lesson: Stellar financials can sometimes mask the true value of a company. “I figured out 30 years ago to be very careful what you have your customers invest in,” said Dodds. “You have to choose based on the integrity of the companies you affiliate with, because it significantly impacts your customer.”
Dodds said he’s more likely to be working with a surfboard or watercolors than a spreadsheet when he’s not at work. “I thought I’d be a professional artist, and then I studied the financial success of artists, and a lot of them were homeless, so I opted to go back to school and finish my economics degree,” he laughed.
Now president of the Greenwood Village-based firm, Dodds’ son, Michael, is also receiving accolades. “It made me so proud that we have a second person or firm that’s on the Forbes Best-In-State Advisors list,” said Dodds. “It means that we have a bright future and the clients are cared for in the long run.”
