Long joined Arrow in 1991, took over as CEO in 2009, and moved the company to Colorado in 2011. Four years later, the company is entrenched as the state’s largest company – revenue hit $22.8 billion in 2014, up from $20.4 billion in 2012 – landing Arrow at No. 131 on the Fortune 500.
Long is bullish on the Internet of Things (IoT) driving more growth. “Arrow is currently working with a number of high-profile customers on exciting IoT initiatives that could usher in new business efficiencies and transform entire industries,” he says.
And the decision to move west looks good in hindsight. “Colorado is a great place to live, work and do business,” says Long. “I thought that when Arrow relocated our headquarters here, and I continue to believe it today. “
