Danaya Wilson is co-founder and chief executive officer of BetterCertify, a Denver-based company that develops accredited environmental safety and regulatory compliance training. Under her leadership, BetterCertify has grown from a $200,000 startup into a multimillion-dollar enterprise recognized for its industry-leading approach to professional certification.

Wilson earned a master’s degree in business and organizational leadership from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Colorado Denver. She co-founded BetterCertify in 2015 to modernize compliance training through collaboration with federal and state regulatory agencies. The company now holds more course approvals than any other provider in its field and serves as a trusted resource for professionals across North America.

Her vision centers on improving how environmental and occupational safety training are delivered, combining technology, interactivity and regulatory rigor. She led the company’s development of the first-ever EPA-approved hybrid refresher course for lead-based paint inspectors, a milestone that reduced classroom time from 8 hours to 2 while maintaining full compliance with standards.

Beyond business leadership, Wilson is deeply involved in industry advancement. She serves as vice president of the Environmental Information Association and as a board member of the Colorado Environmental Professionals Association, where she advocates for higher standards in environmental education and safety practices.

In 2025, Wilson expanded her impact as an author with Changemakers Wanted, published through Forbes Books, which encourages women in leadership to drive meaningful change across male-dominated industries such as construction and technology.
