DENVER — Visitors attending the National Western Stock Show will have an opportunity to step inside one of Denver’s most historic buildings when The Exchange hosts weekly public open houses throughout the event.
EXDO Group announced that the 125-year-old Livestock Exchange Building will be open to the public every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the Stock Show, which runs Jan. 10 through Jan. 25, 2026. The open houses are free and open to Stock Show attendees, nearby residents and members of the broader Denver community.
As more than 700,000 visitors are expected at the National Western Complex, the open houses are intended to showcase the fully rehabilitated building and its new role as a working mercantile and office space. Guests will be able to tour the building and speak with representatives about its restoration and future uses.
The Livestock Exchange Building was originally constructed in 1898 and expanded in 1916 and 1919. For decades, it served as a central hub of Colorado’s livestock economy. The building has been restored by EXDO Group in partnership with the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association, the National Western Center Authority and developers Justin Croft and Jon Hartman.
The rehabilitation restored key architectural features, including the grand staircase, central pyramidal skylight, red and blonde brick masonry, Ionic entry columns and double-hung windows. Modern upgrades were added to improve light, energy efficiency and workplace functionality while preserving the building’s historic character.
“The Exchange is once again the beating heart of the National Western campus,” said Kevin Preblud of EXDO Group. “These open houses invite people to walk the same halls where generations of livestock deals were made and to see how the building is now supporting the next era of Western commerce.”
The Exchange is scheduled to open for business Jan. 10 with the Colorado Cattlemen’s Association as its first tenant. Additional spaces will be filled by Western heritage retailers, office tenants and a limited residency by the Wide Open Saloon from Jan. 8 through Jan. 24. A food and beverage concept aligned with the building’s history is also planned.
Organizers said the mix of tenants is intended to establish The Exchange as a cultural and economic hub for industries tied to agriculture, livestock, food, water, energy and hospitality.
The open houses will take place at The Exchange, located at 4701 Marion St. in Denver. No RSVP is required.
