Heather Tritten is president and CEO of the Colorado Children’s Campaign, where she has strengthened the organization’s financial stability, policy influence and statewide impact since assuming the role in 2023. She delivered the organization’s first budget surplus in nearly five years, expanded funding and led efforts that earned the nonprofit recognition as a 2026 Denver Business Journal Best Places to Work honoree.
Tritten reimagined the organization’s KIDS COUNT in Colorado! initiative, expanding its reach through statewide presentations and bilingual data resources that inform policymakers, advocates and communities. Her career spans leadership in state government, early childhood education and nonprofit management, giving her firsthand experience implementing the policies she now champions. Throughout her career, she has advanced policies supporting affordable housing, Head Start, food assistance and tax credits for working families.
During the past year, Tritten helped secure major policy victories, including expanded health coverage for undocumented children and pregnant individuals, increased Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits, protection of the Family Affordability Tax Credit and support for Colorado’s universal preschool program and new school finance formula.
Her leadership has earned numerous honors, including the University of Colorado Denver School of Education and Human Development Alumni Leadership Award, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce 25 Most Powerful Women in Business Award and the Family Resource Center Association Partnership Award.
Beyond her professional work, Tritten mentors emerging policy leaders, serves on several nonprofit boards and has dedicated more than a decade to community service through youth leadership, neighborhood engagement and refugee and immigrant family support.
