Renee Ann Zentz is president and CEO of Careers in Construction Colorado, where she leads efforts to connect students with career pathways in the construction industry. With more than 20 years of leadership in workforce development and the home-building industry, Zentz has created programs that expand education, mentorship and employment opportunities for young people across Colorado.

During her tenure with the Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs, Zentz launched HBA Cares, the association’s philanthropic arm, creating partnerships that delivered community projects including guest housing facilities for hospital patients and families and transitional housing initiatives. She also established Emerging Leaders, a nationally recognized program designed to encourage women to pursue leadership roles.

Zentz created Careers in Construction through a workforce development initiative launched in 2014. What began as a program with 18 students in one classroom has grown into the nation’s largest program of its kind, with more than 93 Colorado schools participating and more than 5,000 students learning about construction careers. As president and CEO, she continues to expand the program while helping organizations in other states develop similar workforce initiatives.

A leader in industry and community development, Zentz has served as chairwoman of the Pikes Peak Workforce Board and as a board member for organizations including the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC and Pikes Peak Community College Foundation. She has also held leadership roles with national and state home-building organizations, advocating for workforce development and policies that support the construction industry.
