Carla is the founder of Ignite Counseling Colorado, a group practice recognized for its clinical excellence in treating OCD, trauma and addiction. Under her leadership, Ignite Counseling Colorado has been voted Best of Colorado for Mental Health Services and named a finalist for both Westminster Small Business of the Year and Colorado Companies to Watch 2025.
Carla also founded The Mental Health Executive, a consultancy that coaches mental health business owners nationwide to build resilient, mission-driven organizations. She combines operational skill with deep clinical expertise, developing scalable systems, securing workforce grants and maintaining access for underserved communities while ensuring profitability and team well-being.
In the past year, Carla piloted three new clinical service lines while sustaining an 18 percent profit margin. She expanded professional development stipends and increased her team’s emergency savings resources. She is launching free national “Ask Me Anything” sessions to help mental health leaders foster peer learning and build strong workplace cultures.
Carla’s impact extends through mentorship and community partnerships. She mentors interns and early-career clinicians, many of whom move on to leadership or open their own practices. She built a structured internship and peer mentoring program to strengthen Colorado’s behavioral health workforce. Her practice partners with local wellness providers, takes part in community wellness initiatives and accepts Medicaid to ensure equitable care for all.
Through The Mental Health Executive, Carla empowers dozens of women-led and mission-driven practices across the country, multiplying her impact and proving that sustainable business can transform lives and communities.
