Jenifer Gurr spent 22 years at the Colorado Department of Agriculture, beginning as an administrative assistant and retiring as chief administrative officer and director of human resources. Known for consistent leadership across multiple administrations, she oversaw daily operations, facilities and collaboration with the Colorado Agricultural Commission. Among her notable accomplishments, she led the consolidation of six metro-area department locations into a single campus in Broomfield and played a vital role in constructing a new state-of-the-art laboratory. She also served as interim Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture in 2015 and helped establish agricultural educational partnerships with organizations including FFA, the National Western Stock Show and Ag in the Classroom.
