Kristi Kinnison

Kristi Kinnison is executive director of the Methodists Helping Methodists Foundation, a Greenwood Village–based nonprofit that provides financial stewardship, loans and grants to United Methodist churches across Colorado and surrounding states. Since assuming leadership in 2010, she has guided the foundation through transformative growth, expanding assets sevenfold and increasing annual missional distributions from $500,000 to more than $10 million.
Kinnison began her career in quality assurance at IMI Norgren, where she developed early statistical control programs and led the company’s ISO 9000 certification. She later transitioned to finance, serving as a loan officer with GMAC Bank and several community lenders, closing nearly $1 billion in residential loans. After entering the nonprofit sector as development director for Project Sanctuary, she joined the Methodists Helping Methodists Foundation, bringing a data-driven, relationship-centered approach to mission-based financial management.
Under her leadership, the foundation successfully merged the Rocky Mountain and Yellowstone United Methodist Foundations, broadening its reach and efficiency. She also created the nationally recognized All Saints Day Giving Guide and has championed innovative approaches to stewardship, helping pastors reframe conversations about money as acts of ministry and empowerment.
Kinnison’s leadership philosophy centers on sustainability and preparation for future generations. “The challenges I face today must not be the challenges my successor faces,” she said. Her work emphasizes long-term stability, ethical decision-making and servant-led growth.
She holds an MBA in international business from the University of Colorado Denver and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Mesa State University.
