Little Sunshine’s Playhouse has broken ground on a new center in Aurora, marking the company’s 10th location in the Colorado metro area.

broke ground on its new Aurora early learning center, the company’s 10th Colorado location, which will offer Reggio-inspired classrooms and family-focused features.

The school, located at 4401 S. Copperleaf Blvd., will bring the company’s home-away-from-home learning model to families in Aurora and nearby communities. Little Sunshine’s Playhouse, which operates nearly 40 locations nationwide, said the project reflects its continued investment in expanding early learning options across the state.

Sarah O’Dell, director of expansion, said the milestone holds particular meaning as the company works with founding families to shape the new school community.

The Aurora location will feature Reggio Emilia-inspired classrooms, secured entry points, a mobile app for parent communication, and on-site chefs who prepare meals and snacks. Daily enrichment activities such as music, movement and language lessons will be part of the curriculum. Outdoor learning areas and streamlined drop-off routines are also planned.

Company leaders said the school is designed to support children’s curiosity and confidence while offering families a connected and convenient experience.

Brett Roubal, CEO of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse, said the new center aligns with the company’s mission to create safe and inspiring spaces for young learners as it expands its presence in Colorado.
