Melodie Polidori Harris is chief sausage officer of Polidori Sausage, Colorado’s oldest family-owned sausage company and a cornerstone of Denver’s food manufacturing industry. Since joining the business in 2002, Harris has combined a respect for tradition with a passion for innovation, helping the 100-year-old brand grow while preserving its legacy of quality and craftsmanship.
A fourth-generation leader, Harris has expanded Polidori’s reach from local markets to regional and national distribution while maintaining the authenticity that has defined the company since 1925. Under her leadership, the company has achieved nearly 3,000% revenue growth and a 276% increase in net income. She has led the adoption of clean-label recipes, seasonal product lines, and direct-to-consumer e-commerce, while strengthening relationships with restaurant partners and distributors across the country.
Harris’s leadership philosophy centers on empathy, collaboration and integrity. “I believe in rolling up my sleeves alongside my people,” she explained. “No task is beneath leadership and no challenge is insurmountable when we face it together.” She is known for fostering a culture of transparency, adaptability and innovation, guiding her team through market changes and economic challenges with creativity and clear communication.
In 2023, Polidori Sausage was named Manufacturer of the Year by the Colorado Manufacturing Awards, recognizing the company’s growth and commitment to excellence.
