Taylor Merritt

Taylor Merritt is CEO and board chairman of Merritt Companies, a third-generation, family-owned enterprise that includes Merritt Trailers, Merritt Aluminum Products Company and Merritt Family Enterprise. He has led the organization’s growth into a diversified manufacturing and investment group with more than 300 employees across North America.
A graduate of the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, Merritt earned dual bachelor’s degrees in management, finance, and real estate and later completed the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School. He joined Merritt Equipment Company in 2008 as chief financial officer and was appointed chairman and CEO of Merritt Aluminum Products in 2016. In 2019, he became executive chairman of Merritt Trailers, and in 2025, he assumed the role of CEO of Merritt Companies and chairman of Magnum Trailer and Equipment in British Columbia.
Under his leadership, Merritt has expanded its product lines, adopted advanced automation and strengthened its competitive position through strategic acquisitions. The 2025 acquisition of Magnum Trailer & Equipment marked a major milestone, expanding Merritt’s footprint to more than 520 employees and 400,000 square feet of production space while integrating complementary product lines across the heavy-duty trucking industry.
Merritt’s leadership philosophy emphasizes communication, integrity and mutual respect. He has implemented the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to enhance transparency and empower leaders across the organization. His focus on continuous improvement, innovation and a people-first culture has positioned Merritt Companies as a trusted and enduring name in American manufacturing.
