BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Vail Resorts has announced target opening dates for the 2025-26 ski and ride season across North America and Europe, along with new guest experiences, resort upgrades, and passholder perks.
Keystone Resort is expected to open in mid-October, conditions permitting, followed by Breckenridge on Nov. 7 and Vail Mountain on Nov. 14. Other resorts scheduled to open in November include Whistler Blackcomb in British Columbia, Park City Mountain in Utah, Heavenly and Northstar in California, and Gemsstock at Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis in Switzerland. Additional openings in Colorado, California, Washington, and Switzerland are planned through early December. All dates remain subject to weather and snow conditions.
This season brings a number of resort enhancements. Park City Mountain will debut the Sunrise Gondola, a 10-person high-speed lift out of Canyons Village, paired with new beginner terrain and Ski and Ride School improvements. Whistler Blackcomb will celebrate its 60th anniversary with Wonder Routes, a network of themed trails and experiences, while Heavenly in Lake Tahoe and Okemo in Vermont each mark 70 years.
In Colorado, Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and Breckenridge will introduce new Ski and Ride School technology through the My Epic app, allowing parents and students to check in, track progress, and earn digital badges. Keystone’s River Run Village will open the new Kindred Resort, featuring ski-in, ski-out residences, a hotel, and slope-side amenities.
International investments include new six-person chairlifts at Andermatt-Sedrun-Disentis in Switzerland and upgraded snowmaking at Crans-Montana. World-class competitions also return, including Birds of Prey at Beaver Creek in December and the World Ski and Snowboard Fest at Whistler Blackcomb in April.
Epic Pass holders will see new benefits this year with “Epic Friend Tickets,” offering 50 percent off lift tickets for friends at Vail Resorts’ 37 North American resorts. The company has also expanded its Epic Mountain Rewards program, providing 20 percent discounts on food, lodging, lessons, and rentals.
The Epic Pass for the 2025-26 season costs $1,075 for adults and $548 for children, with access to more than 90 resorts worldwide. The Epic Local Pass, priced at $799 for adults, offers more limited but still broad access. Multi-day passes and My Epic Gear rental memberships remain available at discounted rates.
Vail Resorts will release opening targets for its East Coast properties closer to the season.
