Littleton retail center cites post-pandemic emphasis on one-stop shopping

Bowles Crossing shopping center in Littleton announced Monday the addition of six new retail tenants, including three restaurants — Café Rio, Houston TX Hot Chicken and Detroit-style pizza shop Via 313. The other newcomers are Color Me Mine, Party City and Floor & Décor.
Color Me Mine, a family-friendly ceramic painting studio, opened its doors on July 27. Construction is underway for several of the newcomers, including Café Rio and Floor & Décor.
With the additions, the sprawling complex on South Wadsworth Boulevard and Bowles Avenue now lists 35 retail establishments.
According to Placer.ai, a location-analytics platform that provides insights into consumer and behavior patterns for physical locations, centers like Bowles Crossing have thrived in the post-pandemic era and have seen the most significant rebound in foot traffic among retail channels.
A recent white paper by the firm, “The Comeback of the Mall in 2024,” found that consumers now seek greater variety and convenience in “one-stop-shop” neighborhood options, driving a mix of retailers and services, making these centers more experiential. The rise in remote work has particularly increased traffic in suburban “power centers,” as people are more frequently shopping locally, the report by Placer.ia concluded.
“Outdoor centers are at the forefront of the retail industry, and this is especially evident in Littleton,” said Bowles Crossing Property Manager Lori Giggey. “Our tenants, both existing and new, have chosen Bowles Crossing to meet the diverse needs of Littleton residents.”
