Colorado brewers leave GABF with 41 medals

Colorado brewers showed what they — or rather their beers and ciders — were made of at of the Great American Beer Festival, as they took home 41 medals from the annual event, held Oct. 10-12 at the Colorado Convention Center. In all, 35 Colorado brewers won medals.

Founded in 1982, the festival is widely regarded as the premier U.S. beer competition, crowning the finest beverages in more than 100 beer and cider styles. A total of 1,869 breweries and cideries took part in this year’s competition, with 8,836 different beers judged. Of those, 273 breweries and cideries earned 326 medals. Judging took place in three phases over seven days.

Along with the private competition, GABF boasts the largest collection of U.S. beer served in a public tasting event.
