Founding shareholder of Denver-based Ciancio Ciancio Brown, Cynthia Ciancio, 57, has practiced family law exclusively for more than 20 years after starting her career as a deputy district attorney in Adams County.
Ciancio has been heavily involved with both the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has served in officer roles on both organizations’ boards. She also is one of the authors and editors of the Domestic Relations Bench Bar Book.
Ciancio commended her father and retired co-founder, Gene Ciancio, for his influence, including pushing her into the sometimes contentious area of family law. “Being at the top of my field, I tend to get the worst of the worst cases,” she noted. “I’m very good at compartmentalizing. I don’t take it home.”
Ciancio said she learned a lesson early in her career: “Listen to those moments that feel like criticism but are truly the things that motivate you and set your goals.”
