Dr. Audra Spicer is interim president and CEO of Colorado State University Global, where she leads an institution serving more than 14,000 active students and more than 700 employees. With more than 20 years of leadership experience, she has advanced through roles including faculty member, program chair, provost and chief academic officer during 12 years with CSU Global.
Spicer has helped guide the university through a period of growth, competition and changing workforce needs. Under her leadership, CSU Global developed 49 new programs since 2024 by aligning academic offerings with job demand, industry needs and wage data. The university has expanded partnerships with employers, K-12 organizations and higher education institutions while creating flexible pathways for working adults and learners.
She has strengthened CSU Global’s financial position, overseeing a budget exceeding $90 million with a net operating margin and helping secure $4 million in revenue through an international alliance. She also has advanced workforce initiatives through collaborations focused on fields including quantum technology.
Spicer’s leadership has contributed to CSU Global’s recognition among top-ranked programs by U.S. News & World Report, including rankings for veterans, bachelor’s programs and education master’s programs. She serves on boards including the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Chief Academic Officers and Reach Out and Read Colorado.
A champion for access and student success, Spicer has helped create scholarship pathways, emergency support resources and partnerships that expand educational opportunities across Colorado. Her work reflects a commitment to innovation, workforce development and the future of higher education.
