TORONTO — Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, in partnership with Fort Partners and Merrimac Ventures, announced plans Tuesday to open a luxury resort and residences in Telluride’s Mountain Village, marking the town’s first five-star development in 15 years.
The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride will feature 52 guestrooms, 43 hotel residences and 26 private residences. The project is located adjacent to the gondola linking Mountain Village and downtown Telluride, offering ski-in/ski-out access to Telluride Ski Resort.
Developers said the project is designed to highlight the natural landscape of the San Juan Mountains. Architecture will be led by Olson Kundig, with interiors by Clements Design. Plans include floor-to-ceiling windows, natural materials and views of the surrounding peaks.
Resort amenities will include two restaurants, a spa with a thermal lounge and cold plunge, eight treatment rooms, a fitness center, lap pool and outdoor hot tub. Private residence owners will also have access to exclusive offerings, including a ski valet and private lounge, as well as a dedicated residential team.
“This project represents a new opportunity for guests and residents to enjoy one of America’s best ski destinations with Four Seasons,” said Bart Carnahan, president of global business development, portfolio management and residential for Four Seasons.
Fort Partners founder Nadim Ashi described Telluride as “a place of extraordinary heritage and beauty” and said the development aims to create a landmark that reflects the destination’s legacy.
Dev Motwani, president and CEO of Merrimac Ventures, described the announcement as a milestone, marking more than seven years of planning. He credited local partners, including Telluride Ski & Golf and the Town of Mountain Village, for helping move the project forward.
The residences will range in size from two to five bedrooms, with private homes offering up to 6,445 square feet and hotel residences spanning 821 to 5,514 square feet. Private residences will be sold unfurnished, while hotel residences will be turnkey units designed by Clements Design.
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride will join the company’s alpine portfolio that includes properties in Vail, Jackson Hole, Santa Fe, Whistler and the soon-to-open Deer Valley.
