DENVER, Colo. May 13, 2025 — As the United States prepares to mark its 250th anniversary and Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood, the Commission is calling on businesses, nonprofits, local governments, and educational institutions to join a once-in-a-generation statewide commemoration.

In Brief:
  • Colorado marks 150 years as the U.S. celebrates 250
  • Businesses encouraged to co-brand events and products
  • Toolkits and branding available at Am250CO150.org
  • Major initiatives include and 14er climb

Under the theme “The View From Here,” the campaign invites Coloradans to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and envision the future. Organizations are encouraged to participate through community events, commemorative projects, or internal initiatives that align with values of reflection, inclusion, and unity.

“This commemoration belongs to all of us,” said Commissioner Jay Seaton, publisher of The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction. “We hope to see businesses and organizations across the state stepping up to celebrate what makes Colorado unique—and helping us envision a bright future for the next 150 years.”

Participation options range from art installations and historical talks to themed product launches and branded festivals. Businesses can co-brand their events with the official America 250–Colorado 150 logo, helping amplify the shared message across the state. A Community Toolkit—featuring marketing templates, branding guidelines, and planning resources—is available at Am250CO150.org to help participants get started.

The Commission also offers opportunities tied to high-profile initiatives, including a statewide drone show series, a digital passport through the MyColorado app and Colorado.com, traveling exhibits, and a landmark 14er climb. Funding support from major Colorado foundations is available for local organizations.
