DENVER — The Commission and the Office have launched the Colorado passport program, beginning with the Summer Passport, a free digital pass designed to help residents and visitors explore the state’s hidden gems as Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood.

In Brief:
  • Colorado launches free digital Summer Passport for locals and visitors
  • Passport highlights landmarks, culture, family fun and outdoor adventures
  • sponsors program as part of state’s 150th anniversary
  • 16 themed passports planned through 2026 across all 64 counties

The mobile-only passport is available at Colorado.com/passport and through the myColorado app. It highlights destinations across the Front Range, including historic landmarks, outdoor adventures, cultural attractions and family activities. Participants can check in at locations using GPS to earn entries for limited-edition prizes. More visits increase the chances of winning.

The Summer Passport is the first in a series of commemorative digital passports marking America’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th. United Airlines is the program sponsor.

“United Airlines is proud to support the Commission’s Colorado ,” said BJ Youngerman, managing director of global market strategy and community impact for the airline. “This initiative celebrates our state’s historic anniversary and connects people to the moments that matter most.”

Organizers plan to introduce 16 themed passports through 2026, each encouraging exploration across Colorado’s 64 counties. Planned themes include Eat and Drink Local, Western Heritage, Family Fun, Scenic Rides, Colorado Wildlife, Mountain Town, Arts & Culture  and Live Music.

Colorado businesses are invited to participate at no cost by signing up as check-in locations. Eligible businesses must be tourism-related, open to visitors and able to provide reliable Wi-Fi or cell service. Benefits include free listings in statewide marketing campaigns, increased foot traffic and opportunities to showcase products and experiences.

The digital passport program is one of 12 signature initiatives of the America 250 Colorado 150 Commission. The broader effort seeks to inspire community connection, highlight cultural heritage and celebrate both statehood and the nation’s 250th anniversary of independence.
