Bonanno Concepts is poised to open its newest restaurant on Larimer Square in July.
The restaurant — Rōmyō — will be a permanent home for itameshi, the fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisines. The concept evolved from the group’s popular “culinary playdayte” pop-ups hosted at its Italian flagship Luca.
Rōmyō is a culmination of the restaurant group’s 25-year history in Denver, blending the identities of several legacy brands:
Located at 1401 Larimer St. in the historic Miller Building, Rōmyō will seat 80 people in the dining room. Outdoor seating on the pedestrian street will have views of the Colorado foothills.
“We’re all about embracing past and future Denver,” said co-owner and proprietor Frank Bonanno. “Larimer is particularly close to our hearts. Osteria Marco, Green Russell and Russell’s Smokehouse are among the historic spaces we’ve reimagined on this block; it’s so important to us to honor these buildings and we couldn’t be more excited about introducing Rōmyō to this space.”
Bonanno’s wife, Jacqueline, serves as the restaurant group’s creative director. She’s overseeing a design process that includes custom servingware hand-crafted by one of the couple’s sons.
The restaurant’s development is being filmed by their other son for the third season of the series “Full and Buzzed.”
“Rōmyō is truly a family affair,” Jacqueline Bonnano said. “Every design touchpoint will have a distinctly Bonanno Concepts mark.”
